The Location
At the western
end of Loch Katrine,
a few hundred yards from Loch Arklet and 4 miles from Loch Lomond is Stronachlachar, a
tiny hamlet close to the steamer pier. The 100 year old steamer calls at
Stronachlachar daily during the visitor season. Lochside
House is beside
the peaceful lane leading down to the Stronachlachar pier at the point where
the cycleway/private road heads off down the north shore of the loch in the
direction of Glengyle House, the old family home of the chiefs of the Clan
MacGregor. |

Four mile away at Inversnaid you can take the seasonal ferry over
to the west shore of Loch Lomond. On the B829 to Aberfoyle the road passes Loch Ard and the water
sport centre. How

Aberfoyle is accessed via the A81 from Glasgow or Stirling. |
